Cagliari sporting director Marcello Carli has admitted that the club are very calm about the future of Nahitan Nandez with the club.

Relations are understood to have become strained between the club and Nandez’s representatives who are currently locked in a dispute over his image rights. Reports have also linked Inter with a possible move for Nandez.

“Nahitan is doing well, he also trained with the group today. He came back fired up and well rested,” he said at a press conference today, as quoted by TuttoMercatoWeb.

“He is a Cagliari player and I do not see why we should sell our starters. If offers of €80-90 million arrive then we will see what happens.

“2020 is a very important year for us. We are very calm with regards to Nandez’s situation. I hope he has a great match against Torino and a great second half of the season.”

Carli was also quizzed on the future of Radja Nainggolan, who is on loan at them from Inter.

“It’s not a simple situation, because Radja has a high value and has performed excellently. The president has already spoken about him and I do not have anything else to add.

“If in June there is a possibility to sign him permanently then we will certainly try. We know that he is on loan and that him staying is not a simple matter. At the moment I do not know what else to say but it would certainly be a nice dream come true if he stays.”
