Barcelona’s pursuit of Dinamo Zagreb’s Dani Olmo can be seen as progress for Inter in their bid to sign Arturo Vidal, at least according to a report in today’s print edition of Tuttosport.

The reigning Spanish champions are in talks with the Croatian side over the 21-year-old Spaniard whose arrival would only further push Vidal down the pecking order.

For the time being, Barcelona have been extremely reluctant to offer Inter any form of discount for Vidal and continue to seek €20 million for him.

Barcelona will not accept a loan with option to buy move for Vidal either and would only allow him to leave on loan if there is an obligation to buy attached.

Inter have so far offered €12 million, an offer that falls some way short but the Nerazzurri could make a decisive move for him in mid to late January.

The report goes on to state that Cagliari’s Nahitan Nandez has been identified by Inter management as an alternative in the event they cannot get a deal done for Vidal. Cagliari value the Uruguayan at €40 million but Inter could try get him in a loan with option to buy deal.
