According to a report from Brazilian news outlet O Globo, Flamengo are to meet with Gabriel ‘Gabigol’ Barbosa’s representatives next week to hold talks about his possible future with the club.
Gabigol spent 2019 on loan with the Rio de Janeiro based club and helped fire them to Brazilian Serie A and Copa Libertadores glory with him scoring 43 goals in total across his spell with the club.
Flamengo wish to bring him in on a permanent basis but have so far struggled to hold talks with his representatives due to the fact the player himself kept asking for them to be postponed to avoid being distracted in the final weeks of the season.
Flamengo have already made a €16 million offer for 80% of his registration rights but the obstacle continues to be the former Santos player’s wage demands.
Gabigol joined Inter back in 2016 for around €30 million and other reports in the media have suggested that Premier League side West Ham United are very keen on signing him.
