Olivier Giroud is seeking at least a two and a half year contract according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sky Sport 24.

The veteran French striker, 33, is out of contract with Premier League club Chelsea come the end of this season and this has saw several clubs spark an interest in signing him on a free transfer in the Summer, including Inter.

However, the former Arsenal players demands for an annual salary of €5 million coupled with the above contract duration has led to Inter reconsidering making a move for him.

The Nerazzurri club feel like the money that they would have to invest into the signing of Giroud could be better invested elsewhere in the team, where there is more need for reinforcements. Moreover, Alexis Sanchez being close to returning from injury has had an impact in this decision too.

Sanchez has been missing for several months due to an ankle injury that required surgery but has recently been back in full training alongside the rest of his teammates.
