Nemanja Matic is unlikely to be allowed to leave Manchester United in January following a number of injuries in the midfield according to a report from Spanish news outlet todofichajes.com.
The Serbian central midfielder has fallen right out of favour this season at Old Trafford and he looked pretty certain to leave for pastures new but injuries to Scott McTominay and Paul Pogba have complicated things and it therefore looks like Matic will be staying put in Manchester to provide cover in their absences.
Matic’s deal with the Premier League side is due to expire at the end of the season and as a result he had drawn links to several clubs including Inter, Juventus, AC Milan and Atletico Madrid.
The 31-year-old, who has been on the red devils books since July 2017, has made nine appearances across all competitions this term. In almost 700 minutes on the field, he has contributed a single assist.
