Inter are plotting a series of player sales to create a €150 million war chest for this summer’s transfer window, according to Tuttosport.
Mauro Icardi, Ivan Perisic, Joao Mario, Radja Nainggolan and Dalbert all left the club on loan last year with the Nerazzurri hoping their deals can become permanent in June.
But Matteo Politano and Gabriel Barbosa are also for sale and Inter are prepared to sell both for the right price this month.
“This super jackpot would resolve a lot of issues at Inter,” the Turin-based paper reported today.
“By raising €150 million they would balance their books for at least a couple of years, but it would also make their upcoming investments for Nicolo Barella and Stefano Sensi less painful, with Inter obliged to pay Cagliari and Sassuolo €25 million each.
“It also gives them greater freedom to seek other ‘top players’ after signing Romelu Lukaku in the summer.”
On top of the deals for Barella and Sensi, Inter must also decide whether to sign Cristiano Biraghi for €12 million in the summer, after taking him on loan from Fiorentina.
Andrea Pinamonti and Zinho Vanheusden are then expected to rejoin the Nerazzurri permanently, as per agreements reached with Genoa and Standard Liege respectively.
Inter hope to raise €50 million from Gabigol and Politano in January as Antonio Conte seeks a reinforcement in midfield.
Politano’s eventual departure would also give Beppe Marotta and Piero Ausilio the chance to sign another forward, with Chelsea’s Olivier Giroud thought to be favourite ahead of Napoli’s Fernando Llorente.
