Inter are willing to meet Tottenham’s €20 million asking price to sign Christian Eriksen in January, according to Tuttosport.

Eriksen’s contract in North London expires in six months and he is now free to negotiate with overseas clubs ahead of next season.

But Inter will face stiff competition if they wait until June to seek a deal, something which could persuade the Nerazzurri to sign him for a fee this month.

Spurs do not want to lose Eriksen for nothing in the summer, but Inter are waiting for the 27-year-old to accept their proposal before starting negotiations.

Piero Ausilio met representatives from the Premier League club in November while Beppe Marotta has spoken with the midfielder’s agent Martin Schoots.

Antonio Conte’s side are also monitoring a potential move for Arturo Vidal in January, but unlike with Eriksen they are not prepared to spend €20 million on the Chilean.

Vidal, 32, is five years older than Eriksen and will most likely need to force his hand with Barcelona if he is to secure a return to Serie A.
