France national team manager Didier Deschamps has shared his opinion on the benefits a move away from Chelsea would bring for Inter transfer target Olivier Giroud.
“It would be good for the French national team, but also for him too. I spoke to him during the last international break and one before that, he knows what is best for him,” Deschamps explained in an interview with French broadcaster TF1.
“He is not happy with the time he has had on the pitch this season. It is not his fault and he is suffering in the situation. He knows this and is not satisfied with playing so little.”
Asked where he thinks Giroud should go, Deschamps added: “It is up to him to see which will be the best destination.”
As per various reports in the media, Inter manager Antonio Conte is keen on being reunited with Giroud as he feels the 33-year-old is the ideal player to bolster his attack.
