Manchester United have submitted an offer to Barcelona for midfielder Arturo Vidal according to a report from Chilean broadcaster DirecTV.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer believes that Vidal is the ideal player to come in and bolster his side’s midfield following recent injuries to Scott McTominay and Paul Pogba.

The Premier League club’s offer for the 32-year-old Chilean international is understood to be better than the offer Inter have already submitted for the former Juventus player, who reportedly wants out of the reigning Spanish champions.

Vidal has become unsettled due to his lack of starts this season and has recently launched legal action against the club over what he believes to be a breach of his contract.

This season Vidal, who has 18 months left on his current contract with the Nou Camp club, has made 20 appearances across all competitions. In 811 minutes on the field, he has found the back of the net six times and provided one assist.
