Barcelona’s reluctance to let Arturo Vidal depart has Inter feeling more pessimistic than optimistic about their chances of bringing him to the club according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia.

As per various reports in the media, Barcelona are standing firm with their €20 million demands for the 32-year-old Chilean international, a sum far more than what Inter are willing to pay for him.

Inter have identified Tottenham Hotspur’s Christian Eriksen as an alternative to pursue but signing him will be far from easy to do.

The Danish international’s contract with Spurs is due to expire at the end of the season and he can therefore sign a pre-contract with other clubs.

Inter are well aware that they could struggle to compete with offers other clubs make in the Summer and face a real battle to convince Eriksen to join them in January given the 27-year-old will know he can probably get more money elsewhere if he waits until the Summer.
