Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi is trying his utmost to convince Arturo Vidal to stay at the club but Inter remain confident they will get their man according to a report in today’s print edition of Gazzetta dello Sport.
Inter are willing to pay €12 million for the Chilean international whilst Barcelona currently seem reluctant to drop their €20 million demands.
However, Vidal’s contractual situation with the Blaugrana could well help Inter out. Vidal has 18 months left on his deal and this window is when Barcelona will be able to get the most for him as in six months time he will have just a year left on his deal and clubs will not be keen to pay a lot given they could approach him with a pre-contract six months thereafter.
Inter are understood to be willing to offer the 32-year-old a contract through to the end of the 2021/22 season and this could have a big affect on things.
