Inter are getting closer to signing Arturo Vidal from Barcelona following a meeting with his agent over the weekend according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sport Mediaset.
Inter chief executive Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Marotta met with Fernando Felicevich at Inter’s training ground and the meeting has brought the parties closer.
Vidal is Inter’s number one transfer target this month with Antonio Conte desperate for him to be added to his side to help bolster the team’s chances of winning the Serie A title.
The 32-year-old Chilean international is understood to want to leave Barcelona due to growing unhappy with his lack of starts and Barcelona’s failure to pay him €2.4 million in bonuses.
This season, the former Juventus and Bayern Munich man, who still has 18 months left to run on his deal with Barcelona, has made 20 appearances across all competitions. In 811 minutes, he has scored six goals and provided a single assist.
