Barcelona manager Ernesto Valverde has admitted he is continuing to count on Arturo Vidal amid reported interest from Inter, interest that Valverde insists does not worry the club.

“He is here with us and we must not think that he will go away. We will see what happens, but I am counting on him,” he explained as part of his pre-match press conference ahead of their Spanish Super Cup match with Atletico Madrid.

“Tomorrow we will see if he will start from the beginning or come on as a substitute during the match. I do not wish to give away any clues. We are not worried about the interest of other teams in our players.”

Vidal is widely regarded as Inter’s number one transfer target and the player himself seemingly wants out of the reigning Spanish champions due to growing unhappy over his lack of starts.

This season the 32-year-old Chilean international has made 20 appearances across all competitions in which he has scored six goals and provided a single assist.
