Alexis Sanchez would have to take a significant wage cut to join Inter on a permanent basis according to a report in today’s print edition of Tuttosport.

The Chilean international joined Inter on a season long loan from Premier League club Manchester United during the Summer and earns a total of €12 million a year currently. Inter are paying €5 million of his wages whilst United are paying the rest.

An ankle injury, which required specialist surgery and came with a lengthy recovery period, has limited Sanchez’s time on the pitch since his arrival at the Nerazzurri but he did show what he is capable of in his limited time.

The 31-year-old returned to the bench having missed half of the season so far for Monday’s 3-1 win away to Napoli but was unable to add to his four appearances across all competitions to date. In his 129 minutes on the field, he has contributed a single goal and single assist.
