Gianluca Rocchi has been assigned to referee Inter’s Serie A match at home to Atalanta, the Lega Serie A have confirmed.

The highly-experienced 46-year-old referee will referee his 15th match across all competitions this season when he takes charge of the whistle at San Siro on Saturday evening as first placed Inter play host to fifth placed Atalanta.

This will be the second time he referees a match involving Inter this season with him having refereed the 2-1 loss to Juventus back at the beginning of October.

It will meanwhile be the third time he referees a match in which Atalanta are playing. He refereed their matches on match day eight and 13 which were a 3-3 away draw with Lazio and 3-1 home loss to Juventus respectively.

Ciro Carbone and Alessandro Giallatini will be Rocchi’s assistants and Daniele Doveri will be the fourth official.

Massimiliano Irrati has been assigned to take charge of VAR and will have Mauro Vivenzi alongside to assist him.
