Former Inter and Atalanta player Nicola Ventola has shared his thoughts ahead of his two employers facing off tomorrow night.

“I expect to see the usual Atalanta, a team that is not afraid of anything, that has its own ideas,” he began an interview with Turin newspaper Tuttosport.

“It will be a game with many opportunities. Atalanta has shown that they can beat anyone, Inter have also done this. Inter are doing very well and nobody will be afraid.”

He was then asked if he thinks Inter are missing anything.

“Inter are lacking something in the middle of the park. They need some new midfielders. Their squad is not as complete as that of Juventus. Juventus have many important substitutes but Inter do not. Some help may arrive in the transfer window though.

“Moreover, they are lacking experience in big competitions. Their elimination from the Champions League is evidence of that.”

Ventola then spoke on Inter manager Antonio Conte.

“I know Antonio well. He is a person who gives his soul for the project he takes on. I knew that he could immediately impose his mentality and his methods and that something would change for Inter. Nobody he expected at the beginning of January to see Inter in the lead with Juventus. But that is Conte for you.”

He concluded by singing the praises of Inter striker Lautaro Martinez.

“Lautaro is someone who really plays for the team and at the moment he is doing nothing wrong. He is a more complete player than Cristiano Ronaldo.”
