Inter target Marcos Acuña is not on the squad list for Sporting Lisbon’s league clash against Vitoria Setubal tonight, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Portuguese newspaper O Jogo.
The report details how the 28-year-old Argentinian winger had an altercation with the club’s sporting director, Hugo Viana, after Wednesday’s training session. The player was unhappy with the club’s promises and especially unhappy about their decision to decline the offer from Inter for him.
The Nerazzurri had come forward this week, the report continues, to offer Sporting Lisbon a loan deal with a buy option attached for Acuña, which was then declined. In the coming days it will be clear whether there is a complete relationship breakdown between the two parties. If so, Inter may look to sign him again before the end of this month.
Acuña has made 22 appearances across all competitions for Sporting so far this season, scoring two goals and providing one assist in that time.
