A report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport has highlighted the similarities and differences between Inter and Atalanta ahead of tonight’s league clash between the two sides.
The report details how the two team’s attacks are fundamentally different, with the Nerazzurri having a strong partnership of Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez, whereas the Bergamo based club have a mix of technique and creativity, but without a reference point.
The two defences are similar on paper, the report continues, but different in practice. Both teams play with a three-man back line, but the way the defensive trio’s play is massively different between both teams.
Finally, the report highlighted the physiological differences between the two coaches, Gian Piero Gasperini and Antonio Conte. Gasperini has been coaching Atalanta for three years now, giving him a lot of time to drill in his ideas and visions into his squad, whereas Conte has only been with Inter for around six months now.
Whilst Inter are viewing this game as another challenge in the title race, for Atalanta a victory in this game would further cement them as a strong force in Italy.
