Inter captain Samir Handanovic discussed the Nerazzurri’s 1-1 draw against Atalanta last night in an interview with Italian broadcaster SportMediaset.
“We started very strongly, we did very well in the first half, then in the second we dropped a bit, they went forward a bit and put us a bit under. I think the result is right in the end. I’ll add that Atalanta is a very strong team, they’ve had the same coach for four years and they have important players.”
The 35-year-old Slovenian goalkeeper then touched further on the game as well as the Nerazzurri’s growth.
“It wasn’t easy tonight, we’re moving forward. If they had told me this summer that Inter would be so high in the league table? I would have said they were right.”
The Nerazzurri are still top of the league table after 19 games, now one point ahead of rivals and reigning champions Juventus. The Bianconeri face Roma tonight and a victory in that game would see them take Inter’s spot at the top of the league table.
