Inter striker Lautaro Martinez discussed the Nerazzurri’s 1-1 draw against Atalanta tonight in an interview with Italian broadcaster InterTV.

“The match was intense, competitive, difficult. We pressed our opponents, who were playing at a very high intensity. We could have scored a second, but we didn’t succeed, unfortunately.”

The 22-year-old Argentine striker, who scored the opening goal in last night’s draw, then touched on the future.

“We’re sorry that we lost points, but we knew who we were up against. Now we have to keep working. We have a new game on Tuesday, and we want to win to move forward.”

The Nerazzurri are still top of the league table after 19 games, but now they are only one point ahead of rivals Juventus, who play Roma tomorrow night.

Lautaro has now scored 15 goals and provided three assists in 24 games so far this season across all competitions. His strong partnership with Romelu Lukaku continues to impress fans and pundits alike.
