Negotiations between Flamengo and Gabriel ‘Gabigol’ Barbosa over personal terms are progressing slowly but there is optimism that a deal can be reached soon according to a report from O Globo.

Flamengo have been hard at work trying to bring the 23-year-old striker into the club on a permanent basis off the back of a highly successful loan spell last year and look to be edging ever closer to achieving this.

Once a deal is reached between themselves and the former Santos player, they will then speak with Inter again. The two clubs have had an agreement in principle over his transfer since August but given what Gabigol has achieved since then Inter could well ask for more money.

In recent days and weeks there has been reported interest from Premier League clubs as well as Barcelona but the Brazilian news outlet insist that none of these other interested sides have taken any concrete steps toward signing Gabigol.
