Inter and Chelsea have met in the middle and struck a deal over the permanent transfer of Olivier Giroud according to a report from FCInterNews.it.

Chelsea had been demanding €8 million to let the 33-year-old Frenchman depart whilst Inter were originally only willing to offer €5 million due to the fact his contract with the Premier League outfit expires at the end of this season.

The clubs have now agreed upon a deal worth €6.5 million in total. Inter will pay €5 million upfront and there is €1.5 million in bonuses.

Giroud is now likely to undergo his medical with Inter in the next two days and upon competition of his medical he will put pen to paper on a two and a half year contract with Inter worth €12 million in total to him.

This season Giroud has found playing time limited. He has been limited to just seven appearances across all competitions this season. In 282 minutes on the park, the former Arsenal man has scored one goal.
