In an interview with Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, former Inter player Youri Djorkaeff recalled the memorable bicycle kick he scored in a match against Roma.
“It is strange to have went down in the club’s history for simply scoring a goal. It really is incredible,” he began.
“I scored so many goals during my time with Inter but this was the most important because not only was it beautiful but it represented Inter and above all the people of Inter. It was a crazy and spectacular goal.”
Djorkaeff, who spent three years of his career with Inter between 1996 and 1999, then went on to speak about former Inter president and owner Massimo Moratti.
“I am still in touch with him. Milan is like my second home. I could have went to Barcelona but we made history together at Inter.
Djorkaeff made a total of 127 appearances across all appearances during his three year stint with Inter. He scored 39 goals and provided five assists.
