Roma sporting director Gianluca Petrachi remained tight lipped when quizzed on the status of the swap deal between themselves and Inter which would see Leonardo Spinazzola head to Inter and Matteo Politano to Roma.

The clubs had quite quickly found a deal and the players underwent – and passed – their medicals yesterday but the deal looked to be on the verge of collapsing after Inter tried to change the transfer formula.

This decision is understood to have massively angered Roma initially but the two clubs have now come to a new agreement with reports suggesting it will only become an obligation for the clubs to buy the player they receive after a set amount of appearances.

“The negotiations are still ongoing, there is nothing finalised yet. It is therefore useless to comment on something that has not yet been completed,” he explained in an interview with Roma’s in-house channel Roma TV.
