Leonardo Spinazzola has been pictured at the airport and is headed back to Rome after his proposed transfer to Inter collapsed, a report on the website of Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio shows.
The defender looked set to arrive at Inter in a swap deal that would have sent Matteo Politano in the opposite direction but talks collapsed today between the sides.
The clubs had reached an agreement over a swap but after the players passed their medicals, Inter tried to change the terms of the agreement. Whilst Roma were open to changing the terms, the two clubs could not come to an agreement.
The 26-year-old Italian international has made 26 appearances across all competitions this season. In 929 minutes on the field, he has scored one goal and tallied a single assist.
The report goes on to add that Matteo Politano will soon begin his journey back to Milan from Rome.
