Inter could look to sign Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric in the summer, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Spanish newspaper Sport.
The report details how the Milanese club could look to sign Modric at the request of coach Antonio Conte, who appreciates the 34-year-old Croatian and his qualities in the centre of the pitch. The Nerazzurri were interested in signing him in the summer of 2018 but a deal never materialised.
However, a deal in the summer could be more achievable now, the report highlights. This is because Modric’s contract expires in 2021 and the Croatian would be 35 years old. Los Blancos would seriously consider letting the player leave in the summer.
Modric has made 20 appearances across all competitions so far this season, scoring five goals and providing five assists in his 1238 minutes on the pitch. He has been a regular in coach Zinedine Zidane’s squad, only missing games due to a muscle Injury and a red card suspension.
