Italian football journalist Maurizio Pistocchi has taken to social media platform Twitter to share his thoughts on referee Piero Giacomelli’s performance in yesterday’s 1-1 draw between Lecce and Inter.
Giacomelli has come in for a lot of criticism for the many decisions he got wrong during the match at the Stadio Via del Mare and Pistocchi chose to further criticise him.
“In addition to having disallowed a goal scored by Romelu Lukaku which was fine and failing to give Donati a red card for his tackle on Barella, he gave a non-existent penalty, whilst he was falling on the ground. I have never seen anything like this.”
