Inter and Roma have began fresh talks over the possible transfer of Matteo Politano according to a report from Italian radio station TeleRadioStereo.

The two clubs had agreed a deal that would have seen Politano and Leonardo Spinazzola exchanged but the deal collapsed as Inter tried to change the terms of the agreement at the last minute.

Politano is desperate to return to Roma so much so that he has knocked back offers from Spanish side Sevilla and French outfit Monaco.

The 26-year-old winger, as per the report, has in fact returned to the Italian capital in what can be seen as confirmation that talks between the sides are back underway.

Politano joined Inter on a permanent basis this past Summer from fellow Serie A side Sassuolo having spent the 2018/19 season on loan at Inter but he has found playing time limited this season.

The Italian international has been limited to just 315 minutes on the field across 15 appearances this season, just two of which have come as a starter.
