In an interview with Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, former Inter player Olivier Dacourt has spoken on Inter’s pursuit of compatriot Olivier Giroud.

“I hope Giroud will go to Inter. It would be good for the league as well. Before he went to Chelsea, Conte wanted him and now he wants him again and he knows him well. If Conte thinks he can help the team out, he can come in,” he said.

“What advice would I give to Giroud as a friend? None. Inter are a great team. I was lucky enough to always win there and he must try to do the same. He has not called me recently but I have told him in the past that Inter are a nice club.”

Dacourt, who spent three years with Inter between 2006 and 2009, also spoke on legendary Inter captain Javier Zanetti and legendary Roma captain Francesco Totti: “They were great champions and great captains, I am afraid that in the future there will be no players out there like them.”
