Inter CEO Beppe Marotta told Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia moments ago that he and the club are waiting confidently when asked about the Nerazzurri’s chances of signing Danish international midfielder Christian Eriksen from Premier League outfit Tottenham Hotspur.
Marotta was caught by the camera’s coming out of a restaurant in central Milan where he’d had dinner with Real Madrid director Emilio Butragueño, when he was asked if the Eriksen having told Spurs that he wwants to join Inter is a source of happiness and pride for the Nerazzurri.
“Clearly you know more than me. He is a good player but today he belongs to Tottenham. We are waiting confidently.”
Marotta was also asked about the reports that suggest that Matteo Politano is on the verge of joining Napoli but the former Juventus CEO refused to comment.
“I don’t wish to be rude but I don’t know what to say. It is late.”
