Former Inter player Benoit Cauet has downplayed the idea that Inter are in trouble having drawn four of their last six league games.
“I don’t think that Inter are in trouble. The team are playing well, are organised and are showing their value. Important players will arrive and strengthen the team even more,” he stressed in an interview with FCInter1908.it.
“Inter did not perform well against Lecce but have the possibility of catching up with Juventus with thanks to the desire and determination of the manager, Antonio Conte. I am not worried about this slight drop, the league title is won in May.”
Cauet, who spent four years with Inter between 1997 and 2001, then spoke on Inter’s strike force of Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez.
“Lukaku and Lautaro are doing something amazing. I do not think there is a more close knit partnership out there than them. They are like Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah.”
He also spoke on compatriot Olivier Giroud who has drawn links to Inter.
“Giroud can be an important back-up player, he has always scored goals and knows Conte’s style of football. Together with Alexis Sanchez he will provide depth in the attacking department.”
