Inter winger Matteo Politano is one step away from completing a move to Inter’s fellow Serie A side Napoli according to a report from Italian news agency ANSA.

Inter and Napoli have agreed terms over a loan with obligation to buy deal for the 26-year-old Italian international and Fernando Llorente will also be headed to Inter as part of the deal on loan for the remainder of the 2019/20 season.

The report goes on to add that with Llorente set to arrive at Inter, Olivier Giroud’s move from Chelsea to Inter is off. Inter had reportedly agreed terms with Chelsea and the Frenchman but the move was reliant on Politano departing.

However, with another striker in Llorente coming in as part of the deal that will see Politano depart, it makes little sense for Inter to finalise a deal for Giroud, who has scored one goal in seven appearances this season.
