Napoli sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli is to meet with Inter winger Matteo Politano to hold talks over personal terms according to a report in today’s print edition of Gazzetta dello Sport.
Giuntoli was in Milan yesterday and met with Politano’s representatives who want a contract with a starting salary of €2.5 million rising to €3 million for their client.
Napoli on the other hand are believed to be willing to offer the former Sassuolo player €1.8 million plus bonuses per season.
The two clubs have reportedly agreed a deal in principle worth €25 million and they are also discussing the possibility of Fernando Llorente being included in the deal, which would mean Olivier Giroud’s proposed move to Inter would be off.
Inter will use money raised through Politano’s sale to help them get a deal for Christian Eriksen over the line and could reinvest the rest of the money in other deals.
The report from the Milan based newspaper also discusses a possible Matias Vecino and Allan swap deal between the clubs.
Both players are going through a difficult moment at their respective employers and have in fact been thinking about changing clubs for a few months now.
Inter have knocked back a loan offer from Lazio due to wanting to sell or swap Vecino between now and the end of the transfer window.
