RB Leipzig have raised their offer for Valentino Lazaro but remain behind Newcastle United in the race to sign him according to a report from transfer market expert Alfredo Pedulla.

Leipzig upped their offer and tried to close a deal for the Austrian last night but Newcastle are still leading the race and trying to move quickly to get a deal done to avoid Leipzig increasing their offer yet again.

The 23-year-old defender joined Inter this past Summer from Bundesliga outfit Hertha Berlin but looks set to leave the club between now and the end of this transfer window.

Lazaro, who is under contract with Inter until the end of the 2022/23 season, has been limited to just 11 appearances across all competitions since his arrival at the Nerazzurri.

In 513 minutes on the park, the former RB Salzburg player has failed to score any goals but has provided two assists for his teammates.
