Former Inter goalkeeper Francesco Toldo spoke about the Nerazzurri’s season so far and their chances of winning the league title in an interview with Italian broadcaster Sky Sports Italia.
“I see it in perspective. Inter are lovely and have a magnificent team that is investing, first with Moratti and then with Suning, owners that want to take the club to the world. To do this you need to plan, which has been done, because the managers are exceptional, and you need an atmosphere at the stadium that is always fantastic, even in less important games. These are all the ingredients to be happy together. Inter deserves to enjoy years of success.”
The 48-year-old Italian then discussed whether the Nerazzurri would win the league title this season.
“If not this one then another, we’re there. Sport is not just about winning, it’s about excitement. And Inter gives a lot of that.”
Finally, Toldo spoke about what he likes about the current squad.
“I really like Handanovic, a serious and excellent colleague, even on a human level. He’s tied to these colours, he’s been at Inter for ten years and I’m glad he’s captain, he could have been even earlier. Inter have great strikers, there’s a great foundation, with the new signings we’ll get great results.”
