Former Inter striker David Suazo discussed his move to the Nerazzurri and the brief hours he was an AC Milan player in an interview with Italian broadcaster Sky Sports Italia today.
“It was a shocking situation. At midnight I received a call from Massimo Cellino who was with Adriano Galliani and he told me that I had to go to Milan. My confusion was from the fact that from the start I had done the medical check-ups for Inter and had spoken to Roberto Mancini, it was natural for me to think that I was going to Inter.”
The 40-year-old Honduran striker then spoke about that Nerazzurri squad and Mancini.
“Mancini was fundamental. Ibrahimovic, Adriano, Cruz, Crespo were on that team. Yet the fact that he called me to get me into this project was the spark. I played eight years with Cagliari to move to a big club, I needed them to mature. Now just one season is enough to have great chances, it used to be harder before. “
