Speaking during the official presentation of Pablo Mari, Flamengo manager Jorge Jesus has insisted that he wants Gabriel ‘Gabigol’ Barbosa to be part of his team.
“Gabigol is not a Flamengo player, he is an Inter player but he is a player that we really want in our team,” he explained to the gathered media at the press conference.
Flamengo have been in talks with Inter for some time now over a permanent deal for the 23-year-old striker, who spent the duration of 2019 out on loan with them.
Reports both in Italy and Brazil suggest a deal could be finalised between the clubs today and it could be worth between €18-20 million for Inter.
Gabigol, who joined Inter back in the Summer of 2016 in a circa €30 million deal, is understood to have already agreed personal terms with the Rio de Janeiro based club on the basis of a four year contract.
