Gabriel ‘Gabigol’ Barbosa agent Junior Pedroso has shared his delight at his client’s recent transfer from Inter to Flamengo.

The 23-year-old Brazilian international striker today completed a permanent switch to the Brazilian giants, who he spent 2019 out on loan with, a move that has put an end to a three and a half year association with Inter.

In an interview with FCInter1908.it, Pedroso firstly spoke on the former Santos player’s move to the Rio de Janeiro based club.

“It is done. Gabriel is obviously very happy and satisfied. It took time because the two clubs were negotiating, but at the right time they agreed,” he began.

“Gabigol’s will prevailed, going back to Flamengo meant going back to the club he had chosen and things went like this.”

He was then asked if there was the possibility of his client remaining with Inter and if he could return to Europe in the future.

“No, but he had many offers from Germany, England and France. A return to Europe? Flamengo have raised the level of football in South America. This made the difference in making a decision. For now he is totally focused on Flamengo.”

Next he was asked about how his client is feeling and if he could reveal the terms of the deal agreed between the two clubs.

“He was born ready. As for the numbers of the deal, I prefer not to answer that. There are confidentiality clauses.”

He concluded the interview by discussing his client’s time at Inter, in which he was limited to just 10 appearances across all competitions.

“Inter was a learning experience for Gabriel. He matured a lot during his time in the Nerazzurri.”
