Inter have identified the player they could go in for if their move for Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud collapses according to a report from CalcioMercato.it.

Inter are understood to already have a deal in place with Chelsea as well as a deal over personal terms with the Frenchman but if for whatever reason the deal falls through, Inter will perhaps make a last minute move for Islam Slimani.

The Algerian international striker is currently out on loan at Ligue 1 club Monaco from Premier League side Leicester City and his agent Federico Pastorello, who also represents Inter’s Romelu Lukaku, was at Inter headquarters yesterday.

Inter are however not alone in showing an interest in signing former Sporting man Slimani with the report going on to state that Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur are both also keen on signing him.

This season, the 31-year-old has made 14 appearances across all competitions to date. In 1024 minutes on the park, he has scored seven goals and provided seven assists.
