In an interview with Chilean news outlet La Cuarta, Andre Cury, the agent of Charles Aranguiz, has confirmed that Inter have an interest in signing his client.
Reports that have been circulating in the media in recent weeks have suggested Inter are looking to bolster their midfield department and Aranguiz’s name is one of many to have been brought up.
The 30-year-old Chilean international, who is a two time Copa America winner, is out of contract at the end of this season and it has been suggested in the media that he could be brought in in a low cost deal.
“Aranguiz will not leave Bayer Leverkusen now. He is an important player and the club has no intention of releasing him. It is true that there is an interest from Inter but I am sure that, at least for now, he will not go to Italy. In July we will see,” he said.
He also appeared to rule out his client returning to Brazilian powerhouses Internacional, who he played for between January 2014 and August 2015.
“There is nothing formal with Internacional, the idea for now is to stay in Europe.”
This season Aranguiz has made 21 appearances across all competitions. In 1768 minutes on the park, the former Udinese player has scored one goal and provided five assists for his teammates.
