In the past two days, Inter manager Antonio Conte has spoken with Matias Vecino to mend the recent rift the pair of them had according to a report in today’s print edition of Corriere dello Sport.

Conte is understood to have become infuriated when he learned that Vecino had left training early without telling him a few weeks back and this led to the Uruguayan midfielder being transfer listed.

However, Inter did not receive any suitable offers and were unable to find a suitable replacement for him and rather than take a risk on a player they are not entirely sold on, they have decided to reinstate the 28-year-old.

Vecino, who joined Inter in a €24 million deal from Fiorentina back in 2017, will in fact find himself in the starting line-up for tonight’s Coppa Italia quarter final match with Fiorentina at San Siro.

This season Vecino has made 17 appearances across all competitions in which he has scored two goals and provided a single assist.
