Nemanja Matic has confirmed that whilst there have been no talks over a new contract, he would be more than happy to remain with Manchester United if they wish to keep him around.

The Serbian international midfielder’s contract with the Premier League giants is due to expire at the end of the current campaign and as a result he has drawn links to several clubs with regard to a free transfer in the Summer, including Inter, where he could be reunited with former manager Antonio Conte.

Matic, 31, has been on the books of the Old Trafford club since a Summer 2017 move from fellow Premier League side Chelsea and has since went on to represent the club 104 times across all competitions to date.

“I’ve got a contract until the end of the season. I’m at Carrington every day and open to talks if they think I can help, but if not life will go on,” he said in an interview with British newspaper The Telegraph.

“No discussions have happened yet, but my position is clear. It is a pleasure to represent this club, I came here to win things and if they want me to stay then of course I’ll give my best to try and win trophies.”

This season the three time Premier League title winner has made 17 appearances across all competitions. In 1306 minutes, he has contributed one goal and one assist.
