AC Milan Manager Pioli: “Inter Are A Strong Team But They Have Weak Points”

AC Milan manager Stefano Pioli has praised Inter ahead of this weekend’s second Derby Della Madonnina of the season between the two clubs.

“Inter are a strong team with a lot of quality. They are very solid and compact but we have our own characteristics and we will try to show them on the pitch,” he told the gathered reporters on the sidelines of the Panchina d’Oro awards ceremony earlier on today.

He then commented on the condition of star striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who is currently dealing with flu like symptoms.

“The flu has gotten to him. I hope he can have a full, normal week and be on the field in the derby. He is a very important player for us.”

He then spoke on the progress his side have made during his few months in charge of them.

“The team is growing. A lot has changed in terms of the positions on the field and the players who are playing. It is clear that we have only been together for four months and four months is not enough time to have all the perfect mechanisms.”

In conclusion, he was asked by the reporters if Inter have any weaknesses that he and his side could look to exploit.

“All teams have weak points.”

Pioli has been in charge of the Rossoneri club since October 9 and has since went on to manage them in 17 matches across all competitions, of which he has won eight, drawn five and lost four.

The 54-year-old is no stranger to Sunday’s opponents either having managed Inter for 27 games during the 2016/17 season.
