Former AC Milan chief executive Andrea Galliani has spoken on the fierce three way race between Juventus, Inter and Lazio for the 2019/20 season Serie A title.
Reigning Serie A champions Juventus currently lead the way at the top of the table as they seek a ninth straight Serie A title with 54 points to their name after 22 games played. Antonio Conte’s new look Inter are hot on their heels however with 51 points whilst Lazio are sitting in third place with 49 points.
“I am following the league of course. I watch all the games because I am passionate. Inter and Lazio must be acknowledged for keeping alive a league that in the past years was already finished,” he explained to gathered reporters on the sidelines of a charity event earlier on tonight in Milan.
Galliani, who currently holds the chief executive role at Serie C outfit Monza, also revealed that he will not be present at this weekend’s Derby della Madonnina due to a schedule clash.
“I will not be there, I was invited by friends but I will be in Siena because at 5:30 on Sunday there is Siena-Monza.”
He concluded the interview by recalling some of the matches between the Nerazzurri and Rossoneri sides that stick in his mind most.
“The derby is the most important week of the year, but I have always remembered the two derbies back in 2003 in the Champions League semi finals. I experienced those two derbies with an incredible passion.”
