One Of Godin Or D’Ambrosio Will Replace Bastoni In Inter’s Defence To Take On AC Milan

With Alessandro Bastoni suspended, one of Diego Godin or Danilo D’Ambrosio will come in in his place for this weekend’s Milan Derby according to a report in today’s print edition of Corriere dello Sport.
Bastoni has overtaken the far more experienced Godin as a starter and whilst Godin appears the obvious choice to replace him, D’Ambrosio is now back fit and could therefore also deputise. Although not a natural centre back, the Italian has put in some good performances there when called upon in the past.
The report from the Rome based newspaper goes on to state that Inter are doing everything they can to ensure that goalkeeper and club captain Samir Handanovic will be available for the match.
An x-ray confirmed that the Slovenian shot-stopper has sustained a hairline fracture to one of his fingers and such an injury typically takes three to four weeks to heal but this will not stop Inter from trying everything. Ultimately, it will all come down to the player himself and how he feels.
The report goes on to conclude that the conditions of Stefano Sensi and Borja Valero are both improving and they could perhaps make the bench for the match.
