There are four Inter players currently vying for two places in the starting eleven ahead of this weekend’s second Derby della Madonnina with AC Milan according to a report in today’s print edition of Corriere dello Sport.

It is a battle between Victor Moses and Antonio Candreva to start at right wing back. Moses started for the first time since his arrival in the January transfer window against Udinese and whilst he has the pace to deal with Theo Hernandez, he might not necessarily have the fitness levels to play the whole match, unlike Candreva.

The second position is the final of three positions in the midfield and it is between Matias Vecino and Christian Eriksen as to who will start alongside Nicolo Barella and Marcelo Brozovic.

There is a great desire amongst fans to see Eriksen play but the Dane, as evidenced by his performance against Udinese, still has some way to go until he is fully integrated. Inter manager Antonio Conte could opt for Vecino which would be a more conservative choice.

The report from the Roman newspaper goes on to add that Samir Handanovic remains a doubt for the match due to his hand injury and Daniele Padelli is more than likely going to start for the second game in a row.
