The match official assignments for the coming weekend of Serie A action have been made official with Fabio Maresca assigned to referee this weekend’s Derby della Madonnina between Inter and AC Milan.
Sunday night’s match under the lights at San Siro will be the 11th game he has refereed this season across all competitions and will be the fourth time he referees a match involving hosts Inter and second time he referees a match involving the visiting AC Milan.
Maresca was in charge for Inter’s match day two, five and 13 matches with Cagliari, Lazio and Torino matches which Inter won 2-1, 1-0 and 3-0 respectively. The 38-year-old took charge of AC Milan’s 1-0 away loss to Juventus on match day 12.
In his 10 games refereed to date, Maresca has brandished 55 yellow cards and two red cards.
Giorgio Peretti and Giacomo Paganessi will be his assistants for the match whilst Federico La Penna will be the fourth official.
Paolo Mazzoleni will be in charge of VAR and will have Giorgio Schenone alongside to assist him.
