Inter wing back Cristiano Biraghi has shared some brief thoughts ahead of this weekend’s second Derby della Madonnina of the season between Inter and AC Milan.

“Any derby is important but above all the one in Milan both for the fans and the club. It is worth three points just like every other match but it means something more. The preparation remains the same but mentally we have try to give something more,” he explained in an interview with Italian news agency ANSA on the sidelines of an event organised for the Junior TIM Cup.

The Italian international defender joined Inter this past Summer from fellow Serie A club Fiorentina in a loan with option to buy deal and has since went on to represent the club 20 times across all competitions.

Biraghi had appeared to cement himself as the starting left wing back in Antonio Conte’s team for a good few weeks but he has been an unused substitute in Inter’s past two matches and reports doing the rounds at the moment suggest he will start a third game running from the bench this weekend.

The 27-year-old has provided four assists for his teammates in 1364 minutes on the field this season.
