Nicolas Maytum, the agent of one of Inter’s newest recruits, Martin Satriano, has admitted that Inter were not the only club to have shown an interest in signing his client.
Inter pipped several clubs to the signature of the young Uruguayan striker from Uruguayan Primera Division side Nacional, the same club that the Nerazzurri signed the legendary Alvaro Recoba from way back in 1997.
Satriano has joined Inter on a four and a half year contract and will initially report to the Primavera team. Some reports in the media have suggested he will also have plenty of opportunities to train with the Inter first team too.
“Arsenal were quite keen and there’s a lot of interest from a lot of clubs, but Inter was the perfect one for him,” he explained in an interview with British news outlet The Sun.
“I think it was a good step for him to go to Italy to push things forward. It’s important you try to match the players to what’s the right move for them.”
Maytum then shared his belief that Premier League clubs will come back in for his client in the future and revealed a Premier League team that the youngster is particularly fond of.
“There was interest from the Premier League but I think that will come later. Liverpool are his favourite team. He loves them, especially the way they are playing at the moment.”
In conclusion Maytum spoke on how long he has been representing the 18-year-old sensation.
“I’ve looked after Satriano for over five years and we’ve just done his first move now. At the end of the day there’s a lot of work that goes from point zero.”
