Inter have perhaps the biggest chance of all Italian teams to sign Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi according to a report in today’s print edition of La Repubblica.

The multi-time world player of the year has a clause in his contract with the reigning Spanish champions that allows him to free himself in June this year.

Premier League trio Manchester City, Manchester United and Liverpool are mentioned as having an interest in the report whilst Inter, more so than Juventus or AC Milan seem the most likely destination for Messi to land in Italy.

Inter are said to be very interested in the 32-year-old, who has spent his entire career on the books of the Blaugrana and is widely regarded as one of, if not the greatest, footballer of all time.

Messi made his debut for Barcelona back in 2004 and has since went on to represent the club no less than 711 times across all competitions to date. The Argentine international has scored a total of 622 goals for the club and also tallied 256 assists.
